The smell hasn't even faded from the main stage moshpit - but Metal Hammer have already given the festival a Golden Gods award

You've got to feel for the Metal Hammer crew. There can't have been time for the Sunday night hangover to clear before they were off on another jolly - this time their own Golden Gods Awards, held last night.

And with the stink still rising and the last bits of fence and broken sunglasses still lying across the field, they awarded Download the coveted Event of the Year Award. Yeah, it's only June - but what's gonna top it, eh? Eh?

Accepting the award at the O2 Dome in London, Live Nation's Andy Copping said: "Without doubt it was the greatest three days of my life. See you next year!"
